Nähst du mit - will you sew with me?!

Recently i bought some dollhouse dolls, because of one Caco-couple i was interested in.

All the other dolls in the parcel (I guess the most are vintage Ari dolls) were dolls someone liked and played with a lot. And this someone made some cute tiny clothes for them - or maybe it was a Granny or Mummy?!

All these cute little clothes reminded me of a book i once bought on a fleamarket. It's a sewing book for children and it´s lovely! It explanes everything you need to craft: sewing, embroidery, knitting and crocheting.

Illustrated with masses of cute pictures and drawings, like this instruction to sew tiny dollhouse dolls clothes:

Look at all the sweet details - there's real water in the bathtub :)

Your doll needs little panties or a dress?! here they are:

I have some little naked Ari babies i played with as a child and i think i´ll make them some of these tiny clothes someday...

So, will you sew with me?!

I loved sewing for similar tiny dolls when I was a child, and have still got most of the results in a box if they are not being worn by the dolls in my display cabinet which I blogged about last year. This book is a treasure.

Beautiful. I have some tiny print fabric and some dolls that need more clothes. Thanks for the illustrations. I can cut the fabric. Will you then sew them? Of course I would sew with you. Funny but my mom was a fantastic seamstress and none of her four daughters can sew. I think I shall try some items. What a great post and so inspiring. Naked babies are okay too. Love the water in the bath tub.

Yes, of course, would be fun to make the tiny clothes. :-)

The settings are gorgeous - lovely details! And the patterns look fairly simple and easy to follow - very useful in such a small scale!

Nicola! You posted this at just the right time! My Abuelita Rigoberta (who lives in Villa Hogarin) has been on my case about getting new clothes...now I have no excuse...:)

I would if I could :-) I really can't sew, I just cheated on the carnival costumes. But these outfits are lovely and inspiring, so perhaps I will have a go at some of them

I often make new clothes for my tiny dolls too, so, yes, I would sew with you. The most difficult is to find the fabrics, with very small flowers, but I have a great collection of fabrics, and I'm ready to send you some if you need.

I love these! I often shift clothes around with dolls. LOVE your old tub. The babies are sweet too! I want to try the "babybunting". CM

thank you very much for all your sweet and interesting comments :) i would love to come around and sew with you all!

@dollmum - i have to take a look at your display cabinet again!

@amy - this book is still available at eb** or dawanda. it´s in german but easy to follow, because of the pictures. it comes with the pattern for the tiny dolls and for bigger dolls, too.

@florine - i´can´t wait to see abuelita rigoberta´s new clothes :) if you need help e-mail me.

@helene - i think these instructions are so easy to follow (the book is still available) and i think it´s easier for you, because you can read german...

@bea - thank you so much for your nice offer! i´m a real fabric "junkie" and i´m overloaded with fabric ;D even with small prints from the days when i worked at k. kruse. i have to take a closer look at your dollies now to look for the tiny clothes.

@CM - yes, the baby bunting looks very neat and easy. i´ll make it for one of my naked babies. we can post it then together - because unfortunately we can´t sew together...

Dolls represents us. We wear clothes and also them. There are sewing tutorials for our clothing and there is also for dolls. Not only kids are playing with dolls there are adults too specially those who have no kids. Changing dolls clothing is really fun for me.
