Kaffeeklatsch at family Lundby´s home

ever since mrs lundquist (the woman we know as christine), moved to lundby village, mrs lundby wanted to invite her for a kaffeeklatsch, to welcome her and to get to know her a bit better. today is the day...

mrs lundby first was bit nervous, because mrs lundquist owns this big stockholm mansion and is a real business woman with her own immovables company, but after a few moments of unease she noted that christine is a very lovely and normal person.

they had some fruitcake & coffee and after that some sparkling wine... and here you can see them in an very cheerful admosphere :) mrs lundby couldn´t understand why christine was a single for so long and so they had the idea that she has to write a lonely hearts ad at the next newspaper...

meanwhile the lundby kids were going mad downstairs. mrs lundby asked the twins sabine & sabrina and peter & klaus to look for baby while christine´s visit. she layed a very nice table with cookies and juice for them and first everything was okay...

but then sabine, who is the more agile of the twins, freaked out! she began to immitate a guy from the last comedy show she saw on tv and climed up the chair to tell some jokes.

baby didn´t like that and started to cry...

so sabine had to stay at the girls room all by herself... nonetheless christine and mrs lundby had a nice afternoon and i guess it was the beginning of a great friendship :)

Ha ha. So good! I like Mrs. Lindquist's more mod look. What happened to Mr. Lindquist? Oh Sabine, high spirits I think. :) CM

AAAaaawww... How splendid. If they do get that Lonely Hearts ad in the paper I bet a ton of guys will respond. How very cute and well thought out. Love the photos and the great story to go along with it. Kudos!

thanks more2view :) i had a lot fun while decorating all the things and telling the story. yes, mrs. lundquist is a very modern women ;D she also lives in the more modern stockholm mansion! and unfortunately there has never been a mr. lundquist. christine was always to busy with her career and now it´s at the eleventh hour to raise a family, because she doesn´t want to be an "old mother". we will see... :D

dear amy thanks for the honor :) i planned this story for so long. but first i was ill, then cosima and then i had to get the tiny cake and cookies, to lay a real kaffeeklatsch table. i think we both (and helene from pubdolls) have the same approach to "play" with our houses and dolls! i couldn´t imagine my houses without families and stories. and i´m very happy we all met here!!!

Hi Nicola
I really enjoyed reading the story! you will let us know what happens when the newspaper advert goes out for a new "man".
I like atmosphere and the scenes. Are the black chairs wooden? I like them :-)

hi, natalie - i´m happy you like the story :) sure i´ll make some more posts about what´s happening at the "man hunt" ;D ´

the black armchairs and the sofa are made from wood, but the upholstery is made with a batting and (plastic-)lether. mrs lundby doesn´t like them. she is dreaming of a set with flower fabric... this is going to be another post :)

Nicola, what a fun blog! A super nice way to get to know doll families from other countries! More stories, please! And you and Amy both blogged about Lundby children today, how amazing. Well I remember my daughter Jill being sent to her room like Sabine; now she gets to send her own little boy to "time-out".

If Christine does place an ad in a lonely hearts column, I have several available male dolls that are sure to apply.(That would be a fun blog to create!) What a catch she is...a beautiful, professional lady with her own mansion large enough for his "man-cave"! :) Flo

thank you flo :) i´m so happy you all liked the story!! i had a lot of stories in my head since i bought the gothenburg for the lundbys. the problem always was to make good pictures. today i made some experiences with the flash and used a tripod, because i allways blur the pictures *argh*. i´m pretty happy with the result.

and your idea with the males is so great. maybe she can travel to america to meet the man of her life... maybe i can really sent her to you and we both can make blogposts? provided you would give one of your males to christine (to me)... and she bought that big mansion, because she wants to have a bunch of children, but i guess if she wants she will also find a place for a man-cave ;D

What a fun idea, Nicola! You post a Lonely Hearts ad for Chistine on your blog and we respond with available males on our blogs...with the thought, that if chosen by Christine, they will go to live with her in her big Stockholm mansion! And if she has to visit for pre-nuptials, that will be fun too! Hmmmmn. Wonder who will win the hand of the fair maiden??!! :)
I too have problems with pictures...but your pictures looked great on this blog, so maybe you have found the right solution! Flo

Oh, I really loved this story and the pictures that went with it!
Very nice work Nicola!
As you say, I can't imagine my houses without dolls and stories anymore, strange since I almost never played with dolls when I was little!

gglg, nicola

dear florine, i can´t wait to blog the next post :) i have some ideas about it and where it will be, but i think it takes some time because i´ll have to get some requisites before. and yes, i would love to sent christine to you and the men!!! it´s such a lovely notion. but we will see. first christine has to take a look at the guys which live in america, maybe she is not so "amused" like me ;D

i guess everybody of us has problems with the quality of the pictures. i think it´s very difficult to get real good pictures without the right light and a good camera. my camera is old and i´m happy i was able to get good pictures this time. and i´m a very ambitious person! i want to do everything more than 100% *argh* not easy to live with me ;D

dear helene - i really can´t imagine your house without all your tiny people, too. they are so in my thoughts that i sometimes think things like :"this man looks like helmer" :) thank you for the compliment about my work - you inspired me so much!! but different from you i always played family with my dollhouse dolls. i loved to hide in my dolly-world, because my own family was a bit strange. i think that´s the fact why i kept all my toys so well, they were more than just toys...

Great scene and story, Nicola! I love the tiny bird on the top of the shelves upstairs, and the little dog!
I think kaffeeklatsch is used in America, not in Australia - we'd talk about a coffee morning (if it was a group of women, I'm not sure about just two; we used to say morning tea and afternoon tea, but now people drink coffee so much more, that's kind of going out of usage ...). And man-cave is new to me, too - I think I might call it a den. But only big houses in Australia would have one. Far more men would have a shed out the back! Or a workspace at the back of the garage.
